What Is DOT Laser Therapy?
Laser skin resurfacing relies on a controlled eradication of certain skin cells and your body’s natural healing processes. The DOT Therapy laser is an advanced fractional skin resurfacing laser. The laser’s energy is applied in a matrix pattern. “Dots” of controlled but high-powered energy are placed on the skin at very specific, carefully calibrated intervals.
This energy burns away skin cells in the abnormalities you wish to address, including:
- Sun-damaged skin
- Aging skin
- Brown spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
When those skin cells are eliminated, your body’s natural healing processes swing into action to rejuvenate the area. Once those processes are complete, the treatment area will look dramatically different and revitalized.
The most important aspect of the DOT Therapy laser is its exceptional laser. This accuracy means that only affected areas are treated. Surrounding tissue and skin cells are left untouched, meaning you won’t have “collateral damage” as a result of your laser skin resurfacing.
Now offering PRFM with our DOT Laser Therapy Treatments!
What is PRFM? PRP is a concentration of your body’s own platelets, which is the blood component that contains a high concentration of growth factors. These growth factors, when applied topically or injected, trigger a rapid healing response and stimulate the production of collagen. Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix; PRFM is PRP, but even better!
How is PRFM different then PRP? PRFM essentially takes the healing and rejuvenating powers of PRP and adds a “scaffolding” to preserve and protect the platelets. When PRP is used alone, the platelets can only survive for several hours, but PRFM allows the platelets to survive for several days!
How is PRP/PRFM Obtained? A small sample of the patients blood is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and plasma. Calcium is then added which transforms the plasma into a more stable matrix.
